2026 OFFICERS MESSAGE
Happy Summer 2026 to all of our Members! And welcome to the Falmouth Men’s Club’s 78th season. This summer coincides with America’s 250th birthday. Our country’s Semiquincentennial is good reason to celebrate. So too is the FMC’s existence for almost a third of American history. It’s remarkable – and as good a time as any to reflect on our Members’ many contributions to the Falmouth community that we love.
“Americans of all ages, all conditions, all minds constantly unite.” That’s what a traveling Frenchman admired in 1830s America: Our “art of associating.” If Alex Tocqueville had been lucky to wash up on the Heights beach in the 1940s, he would have another artwork being sculpted by our founders. Take a moment to read the “Brief History” of our Club on the next page. Scroll the list of our Past Presidents. Consider our formal corporate purpose, on record with the Commonwealth: To “promote and protect the concept of ‘family living’ in the Falmouth Heights, Maravista, and Acapesket areas of Falmouth” … to “concern itself with any civic matters” affecting them … and to “sponsor and supervise, encourage and conduct a program of recreation both social and athletic for the benefit of the children of its members.”
Now try counting the number of kids who made summer friends for life playing ball, chasing medals, and volunteering on our field … and how many Member meetings, fundraisers, carpools, and meetings convened to make it real. Tally the opening and closing parties, socials, cruises, luncheons, and golf tournaments … and also the contributions of time, effort, and money by the devoted women and men of the FMC for almost 80 years to heighten our summer experience.
The FMC is many things to all of us. It’s a benevolent society, a civic association, a charity, a social club, a fraternal organization, and an extended family. But at heart it is always “For the benefit of…” It’s the common purpose. It’s for each other. It’s for our families and community. It’s for the ones who did it before us. It’s for the ones that will come after us. That’s the difference between coming to Falmouth and just going on vacation.
One thing that the FMC is not – and should not become – is a mere service provider. Our Club is member-supported. We want our Members committed and active to the extent possible. That’s the FMC “art of associating”: If Members want it, then channel that 1940s spirit and let’s do it. You won’t get much rest with the FMC but you’ll have way more fun.
And even as we have fun, let’s be grateful. For 250 years of America, for 78 great years of the FMC, for the contributions of our past and present Membership, and for the joys of another summer in Falmouth.
Peter D. McCarthy
FMC President
2025 OFFICERS MESSAGE
As we welcome the 2025 season of the Falmouth Men’s Club, we pause to honor the memories of two celebrated members of our organization: Colonel Gerald “Jerry” Charles Potomis and Patrick Coughlin. Their recent passing has deeply touched us all. We will honor their memory this summer by making sure the kids have a great time at Heights Field—something both men cared about deeply.
As we embark on our 77th year, I’m honored to serve as President and to continue our proud tradition of community involvement, all while providing a safe, welcoming environment for our children and grandchildren.
Since our founding in 1948, the Falmouth Men’s Club has been dedicated to creating a space where kids can build lifelong friendships. This year, we remain fully committed to these values, and we’re excited to welcome back our dedicated staff of counselors who will lead the daily program at Heights Field.
Membership dues are modest, and we encourage all interested individuals to join us in supporting our youth-focused mission. Your participation helps sustain our programs and ensures we continue making a lasting impact on the lives of local children and the broader Falmouth community through our ongoing charitable donations in the form of scholarships to deserving students from Falmouth High School.
We look forward to a fantastic 2025 season filled with joyful days for the kids, enjoyable social events, our annual golf fundraiser, and of course, our traditional opening and closing parties. A full schedule of events is available on our website.
Thank you for being part of the Falmouth Men’s Club family.
Warm regards,
Ken Foraste

2024 OFFICERS MESSAGE
Welcome to the 76th summer of the Falmouth Men’s Club! I am honored to serve as President and would like to thank all past Presidents and say a special thanks to my predecessor Lenny Wall for his leadership over the past two years. I look forward to another year at the Heights Field and know your children and grandchildren will have a wonderful time with friends old and new and with a committed group of Counselors and volunteers who will help run the program day to day. As a father of 3 who have had the pleasure of being part of this organization, I know the friendships formed on the field will last a lifetime.
As we start the summer I want to share some important highlights. Our opening meeting and party will be at our home at 13 Irving Rd in Belmar on Saturday June 29th. The 1st day at the Heights field will be July 1st and we ask that you consider registering your children or grandchildren prior to that day at our website www.falmouthmc.com. We have made one change to the schedule and we will not be having a summer social in 2024. We do have a number of other events planned and we encourage members to attend all the club events throughout the summer.
As we start the season there is a large hole in our hearts with the sudden passing of our Treasurer Jason Berube. Jason was a selfless man who gave much to our organization. We will honor him by making sure all the kids he cared so deeply about have a fun filled summer.
As we move forward I would like to thank Peter McCarthy, VP, Rob Clifford, Treasurer and Andrew Plunkett, Secretary for their help and willingness to serve. I also want to thank Jack Friel, Cyndi Smith, Joy Foraste, Michelle Wall & Maureen Nee for their help as we got ready for the summer. Volunteerism is an important aspect of our club and we welcome all parents who are interested in getting involved to reach out.

2023 OFFICERS MESSAGE
This year we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Falmouth Men’s Club. What a fun 75 years it’s been for all the kids(& members!) of the FMC. I am excited to enter my 2nd year as President and look forward to continuing the 75 years of summer fun and friendship for the families of Falmouth. This organization has provided great summer memories for all that have enjoyed being part of our unique organization. The kids program @ the Heights is the heartbeat of our club. Any kid from anywhere is welcome to join in on the fun every morning at the Heights and it is through your generosity that we continue to have our kids program at an incredibly reasonable cost for all families. We look forward to seeing the next generation of kids arrive at the ball field on July 5th to meet friends new and old and enjoy the Summer of 2023.
We encourage everyone to attend all the Club events scheduled for this summer. We have our kickoff meeting on July 1st at the Foraste’ home at 13 Irving Rd. This is a can’t miss event where we get together to catch up with old friends and welcome new families to the FMC. Our Member-Ringer “Fore The Kids” golf tournament will be held on July 29th at Falmouth CC. This is our only major fundraising event of the year so please consider a foursome or sponsoring a hole. You will enjoy a great day of golf and more importantly you will be supporting the kids program at the Heights. Next up is our Summer Social at Sopranos Casino by the Sea in Falmouth Heights. Please circle August 5th on your calendar and come celebrate 75 years of FMC friendship. Our final meeting will be held August 26th at the Szal home on Worcester Court. Always a fun night to wrap up another great summer. Please try to attend any and all our events. Our organization is only as good as our members. It was built and has thrived on Volunteerism so please join the fun.
Finally a special thanks to all the past presidents who have led and continue to lead this club over the past 75 years- “Many hands make light work”. A big thank you to this years officer’s Ken Foraste’, Jason Berube and Peter McCarthy. Also the behind the scenes team of Jack, Jay, Mark, Cyndi, Joy & Michelle who have been instrumental in getting the program ready for Summer 2023.
Please check out our website www.falmouthmc.com and our Facebook page for updates throughout the summer. Please join our email list by updating your email at falmouthmensclub@gmail.com
We look forward to seeing everyone on Opening Night July 1st to kickoff the 75th season of FMC. Remember “Don’t waste your days” and see you all soon!
